


MCCDA Announces 2026 Bhit Mhiship: Unveil Committees
The Mhiship Community and Cultural Development Association (MCCDA) has fixed the 28th of March 2026 to mark it's most celebrated Bhit Mhiship, a yearly auspicious occasion that brings together Mhiship sons, daughters and well wishers across Nigeria and beyond to showcase it's rich cultural history, tradition, craft and people.In a statement made available by MCCDA Secretary General, Hon.Pefun Joshua Ndom indicated that the 2026 Bhit Mhiship celebration would come with pomp and pageantry and many new activities to the delight of members and well wishers.The statement added that to achieve the success of the event, the national EXCO in collaboration with the Branch and Zones' EXCO has formed the central planning and Sub-Committees to ensure a hitch-free and a successful event.The statement further unveiled the central and sub- planning Committees to include: The Central Organizing Committee to be headed by Dr. Tanko Dabit as Chairman, and Hon. Pefun Ndom as secretary. Mr. Sendi Dauda is to chair the Publicity and Media Sub-Committee; Dr. Nankang Lepzem is to head the Medical Sub-Committee.Other Committee Chairmen include: Dr. Maklu Nanteer Yonla, Chairman (Finance Sub-Committee); Hon. Zipphion Chrysantus, Chairman (Contact Sub-Committee); Dr. Beatrice Zuhumben, Chairman (Field and Decorations Sub-Committee); Mrs. Victoria Sohotyep, chairman (Local Delicacies Sub-Committee); while Mrs. Tongnan Dada is to serve as chairman of the Refreshment Sub-Committee.Protocol Sub-Committee is to be headed by Dr. George Dasat Shwamyil; Chief Jacob Bitmang would chair the traditional Council Sub-Committee and Nda Fyardung Mulak is to head the Culture Sub-Committee.Other Sub-Committees constituted are; The Executive Seats Mobilization Sub-Committee, Secretariat Sub-Committee, Venue Preparation & Cleaning Sub-Committee, Ushers Sub-Committee and the Building Sub-Committee respectively.
