
Nidi Sohotyep, Speaker, others splashed Cash Gifts on Miss Mhiship, other Contestants

The Chair Lady of Miss Mhiship 2026, Nidi Sohotyep, the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly,
Rt. Hon. Naanlong G. Daniel and other dignitaries yesterday splashed cash gift on Miss Mhiship, Muyananfun Entang and other contestants.
Nidi, gave out the cash gift at a launch she organized to host the committee and the contestants for Miss Mhiship 2026,
at her residence in Rayfield-Jos.
The event had several dignitaries and political bigwigs in attendance.
The dignitaries included; Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel G. the Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly,
Prince David Daser, the CEO of Digital Bridge Institute Abuja, Chief Ephraim Usman, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Plateau State and CC Martin Dapel (Rtd), the MCCDA National President.
Speaking, Nidi said it was a privilege to have been invited as the Chairlady of the occasion.
She said since she was absent at the main event in Chip, she felt she needed to host the Beauty Queen, the other Contestants, the Planning Committee and some Guests at her residence.
She told the contestants that they are all winners as there was no winner, no vanquish.
She said beauty today goes with vision and the making of impact in the society.
She added that the Beauty Queen must birth projects, and responsibly work hard to implement them.
She presented a token to the Beauty Queen with a promise to open her door for her at anytime if she needs her advice or support.
Similarly, Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong G. Daniel, appreciated the host for inviting him to be part of the lunch.
He said for the contestants to come out and contest shows that they are confident, bold and focussed. He advised the Beauty Queen to liaise with her co-contestants to share the vision they had with her. He described the host as a woman with many caps that neatly fit on her head.
He described Ms. Nidi as a banker, a politician and a social worker.
He advised all that were at the lunch not to be afraid to step out of their comfort zones.
He added that fear is the greatest enemy of success. He said the Beauty of Plateau lies in its unity in cultural diversity.
He capped his message with an advice to the Beauty Queen to have a bigger vision as he looks forward to working with her in the nearest future for the good of Mhiship land.
He announced a donation of two million Naira (#2,000,000) for Bhit Mhiship 2026, five hundred thousand Naira (#500,000) for Miss Mhiship and another five hundred thousand Naira (#500,000) for the other contestants.
Also speaking, Prince David Daser on his part, said it is an honour to be invited for the lunch.
He commended the initiative for the sit out.
He said Ms. Nidi embodies a blend of ambition and vision.
He said she represents a woman of vision, good character and a positive role model.
He advised the Beauty Queen to look up to her for support.
To the other contestants, he said despite the fact that they did not win, he is sure they have leant some positive lessons from the contest.
He promised to redeem the pledge of one million Naira (#1,000,000) made for 2025 Bhit Mhiship and two hundred thousand Naira (#200,000) for the 2026 Bhit Mhiship through the account of Mr. Moses Kumbet.
He pledged the sum of One hundred and fifty thousand Naira (#150,000) for the Beauty Queen and another one hundred and fifty thousand Naira (#150,000) for the other contestants.
On his part, Chief Ephraim Usman described the host as a banker with a difference, a woman that is descent and ready to do anything for success.
He apologized for his absence at the 2026 Bhit Mhiship, citing a coincidence with the National Convention of APC. He said beauty today means positive contribution to womanhood.
He advised the Miss Mhiship to lean on Ms. Nidi for support in order to create positive impact throughout her stay in office.
The Commissioner pledged the sum of one million Naira (#1,000,000) for MCCDA, five hundred thousand Naira (#500,000) for the Beauty Queen for her pet project and another five hundred thousand Naira (#500,000) as transport for the other contestants.
While commending the host, Nda CC Martin Dapel (Rtd) reiterated that the meeting, though brief but very significant.
He said the Mhiship people are intelligent, vibrant in culture and are positive towards development.
He added that as a Beauty Queen, she must portray the culture and heritage of Mhiship people.
He said “the lunch has strengthened our bond and demonstrated love in action.”
He advised the Beauty Queen to remember who she is, saying the title will expose her to people that matter in the society who will also be a blessing to her and the Mhiship Nation.
The MCCDA President appreciated the Planning Committee for organizing a befitting Gala Night and applauded the host, Ms. Nidi Sohotyep for her initiative and benevolence.
