MCCDA LAUNCHES MHISHIP ICT INNOVATION HUB, LAYS FOUNDATION FOR POLICE STATION.

The much-anticipated programme of the Mhiship Community Cultural Development Association (MCCDA) National Body, featuring the official launch of the Mhiship ICT Innovation Hub and the foundation laying of a new Police Division Station, has been successfully held amid excitement and jubilation across Mhiship Nation.

The main event commenced at exactly 12:30 p.m. with welcome address by the MCCDA National President, Ndah CC Martin Dapel.

Ndah CC Dapel described the event as not only historic but a vision realized at a most significant period in Mhiship land.

The National President noted that: ” the Innovation Hub and the Police Station are two empowerment for social Stability. By investing Simultaneously in
protecting lives and investments; together, they create the enabling
complementary pillars of development. ICT empowers minds, while it secured
environment for economic growth, educational advancement, youth
technology and security”.

He added that the association is laying the foundation for resilient and
prosperous Mhiship.

Also speaking, the fundraiser for the project, Ndah Jelpe, in his address, commended the MCCDA National Executive and the entire Mhiship community for what he described as a significant milestone in the history of the community.

He particularly challenged the youth to stay away from hard drugs and other harmful behaviours capable of creating division and destroying the future of the younger generation. He urged the youth and the entire community to take full advantage of the newly established ICT Innovation Hub by acquiring digital skills and developing themselves for the benefit of the community and society at large.

Adding his voice to the ICT project, the Consultant for the Mhiship ICT Innovation Hub, Chief Koppe Sylvanus Joseph, expressed appreciation to the community for finding him worthy of the responsibility of overseeing the centre.

Chief Koppe assured the community that he would work towards introducing programmes and initiatives that would positively impact the people.

He described the centre as a major milestone and stated that it was the first of its kind in the state.

He called on the government and other stakeholders to support the centre, stressing that the facility has the potential to serve not only the Mhiship community but also neighbouring communities, Pankshin Local Government Area, and Plateau State at large.

The programme proceeded with the official launch of the Mhiship ICT Innovation Hub, performed by the Honourable Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Plateau State, Dr. Cletus Shurkuk.

While delivering his address,The Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Shurkuk commended the MCCDA Executive and the entire Mhiship Nation for their resilience, unity, and commitment to community development.

The Commissioner pledged his support for the ICT Innovation Hub and other initiatives that would promote the progress and development of Mhiship, noting that the community is her home.

Also in her remarks, the Plateau State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Grace Shwarta commended the people of Mhiship for embarking on such laudable initiative and assured the community of her support towards the success and sustainability of the centre,noting that the community is her home hence she would give her maximum support.

Awards of recognition were also presented to the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, the Honourable Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, and other distinguished individuals in recognition of their contributions and support.

POLICE STATION FOUNDATION LAID

Another major highlight of the event was the official launch and foundation-laying ceremony for the proposed Police Divisional Station to serve Mhiship land.

The ceremony was launched by the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Grace Shwarta alongside Nda Long Mhiship, Sunday Dajep II.

The ceremony was witnessed by the three District Heads of Mhiship, community leaders, dignitaries, and a large gathering of sons and daughters of the community.

Meanwhile, the historic programme had earlier commenced with a Congress Meeting, where the MCCDA National President welcomed traditional title holders, Chairmen of the various Community Development Associations (CDAs), distinguished dignitaries, sons and daughters of Mhiship, among other guests.

A financial report was subsequently presented to the Congress. Following the presentation, some observations, comments, and recommendations were raised by the CDA Chairmen. Responding to the issues raised, the MCCDA National President assured members that the concerns would be carefully looked into.

Also speaking during the congress, Nda Long Mhiship, Sunday Dajep II, commended the MCCDA National Executive for its efforts towards the development of the community. He expressed appreciation to highly placed sons and daughters of Mhiship for their continued support and contributions to the progress of the community.

The traditional ruler further called on the people of Mhiship, particularly the youth, to shun actions capable of undermining the unity, peace, and developmental progress currently being witnessed in Mhiship Land.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks, with the atmosphere across the community filled with joy, gratitude, unity, and optimism for a greater Mhiship.

The launch of the ICT Innovation Hub and the commencement of the Police Station project have further demonstrated what can be achieved through collective effort, unity, commitment, and the determination of the Mhiship people to develop their community.

Indeed, the Mhiship Nation has once again written another important chapter in its anal of history.
