Massive Turnout as NAMS Launches Literacy & Skills Empowerment Programme in Mhiship Communities.

Its a new dawn in Mhiship land as the National Association of Mhiship Students, NAMS, kicks off a remarkable Literacy and Skills Empowerment Programme for the youths in the community.

This empowerment programme is an initiative of Mr. Amos Nandet Davil, a 500-level student of Technology Education at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, in collaboration with NAMS and also partnering with over 20 professional tutors across various fields to deliver training and mentorship, at no cost for the participants.

Our correspondent reports that the National Association of Mhiship Students (NAMS) flags off this Summer Break Literacy and Skills Empowerment Programme to keep the youths busy, adding that it would be a one-month free initiative cutting across all secondary schools in mhiship land with venues at GSS Mugulum, Jibam, and Longkat respectively.

Since the launched of the scheme on 4th of August 2025, the programme has witnessed massive turnout of enthusiastic learners, With training in areas of academic and career counseling, reading and writing tutorials, barbing and hairdressing, computer and ICT literacy among others.

According to the organizers of the empowerment scheme, the vision of the programme is not just for educational purpose, but transformational, thereby providing young people with life skills and positive engagement during the holiday to avoid youth idleness.

Applauses have continued to shower on the organizers from parents, guardians, and even traditional leaders, who described the gesture as timely, thoughtful, and impactful. Hence, expressed gratitude for the opportunity given to their children, especially in times when such programmes were rare and often unaffordable.

To sustain the scheme, NAMS has appealed to well-meaning individuals, organizations, and stakeholders to contribute towards expanding the project.
