
Gov Mutfwang Presents Budget of N914bn to State Assembly.

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has today Wednesday, presented a budget of N914 billion to the State House of Assembly for the 2026 fiscal year.
Presenting the Budget to the law makers, Gov. Mutfwang gave a breakdown of the budget as recurrent budget standing at N314 billion representing (37.32%), and the capital budget component of N573 billion representing (62.68%), an increase of N306 billion over the approved 2025 budget of last year.
Gov. Mutfwang said the budget is designed to serve the people of plateau State adding that the key areas of focus of the 2026 budget would be agriculture, rural development, mining and mineral development, industry, trade, investment and tourism, health, education and infrastructural development.
According to the Governor, “the budget titled “Budget of Consolidation and Sustainability 2.0” is expected to implement people-oriented projects and programmes for the people of the State.“
The total budget stands at Nine Hundred and Fourteen Billion, Eight Hundred and Sixty-Three Million, Four Hundred and Twenty-Two Thousand, Eight Hundred and Seventy-One Naira (#914,863,422,871.00) only.
Gov. Mutfwang further added that the proposed budget would be generated from Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), government shares of FAAC, aids, grants and the Capital Development Fund (CDF), while emphasizing his administration’s commitment to placing importance to peace building to ensure a prosperous Plateau State.
The Governor appealed to the State Assembly to ensure a speedy passage of the budget to enable the administration commence implementation in good time to deliver to the promises his administration made to the people of Plateau State.
Responding, the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Daniel Naanlong assured the governor that they would do their best to ensure a fast passage of the bill into law and assured of a good working relationship between the Executive arm and the Legislature to move the state forward.
